Get out of pain
So root canals are something that a lot of patients are pretty nervous about. In our practice, what we try to do is make them as comfortable as possible during that. We make sure that the area is profoundly numb so they're nice and comfortable and we try to do the procedure as quickly as possible. Root canals are something where whenever that's needed, a patient is typically in pain or has an infection and so we're able to go in there and get the patient out of pain or take away the infection so they can be healthier or more comfortable pretty immediately afterwards. So if you're in pain or have a broken tooth or an infection, give us a call and we can do an exam on you to see if you need a root canal in order to make that tooth feel better.
- End your tooth pain, not cause more pain
- Save your tooth from needing an extraction in most cases
- Protect the health of your other teeth and gums
- Prepare your tooth for a new crown
If you’ve been putting up with an aching tooth, call us today at (713) 932-0441 to schedule your root canal. We can usually see you the same day, and we offer sedation if you’re nervous about your procedure. If you’re a new patient without insurance, you’ll receive a free exam and consultation. Second opinions are always free.
Feel Better After Your Root Canal Procedure
A root canal is probably the most feared of all dental procedures. However, modern root canals are among the most comfortable procedures we perform here at Parker Nickolas Read Dental. Perhaps many decades ago, root canal procedures deserved their bad reputation, but things have changed for the better. In fact, our patients usually report that their root canal was no more uncomfortable than getting a tooth filled.
A root canal is a restorative procedure to clean out the infected pulp chamber inside your tooth. If a cavity is left untreated or a tooth is damaged and bacteria is able to get inside the tooth, the pulp can become inflamed and very sensitive. You’ll experience a great deal of pain when the pulp is infected.
To stop your pain, your dentist will:
- Remove the infected pulp
- Sanitize the tooth to get rid of bacteria
- Repair and shape the canals inside the tooth
- Fill the canals with a rubber-like material
- Place a new crown on the tooth that’s made right in our office
After your root canal procedure, your pain will be gone, and your tooth will be safe from extraction. The crown will strengthen and protect your tooth, giving you back your biting power and helping prevent further problems with the tooth.
